Terms and conditions for using CiteLogos
Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using CiteLogos software and services ("Service") operated by CiteLogos LLC ("we," "us," or "our").
By downloading, installing, or using CiteLogos, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you may not use the Service.
CiteLogos is a citation checking tool for Microsoft Word that helps identify potential APA 7th edition formatting errors in academic documents. The Service analyzes your documents locally on your computer and provides suggestions for improvement through Word comments.
CiteLogos is offered in two tiers:
CiteLogos Basic is provided free of charge until June 1, 2026 ("Free Access Period"). During this period, no payment is required for Basic features. After the Free Access Period ends, continued use of Basic requires a paid subscription. Existing free users will receive a seven (7) day trial to evaluate the service before subscribing. We will provide advance notice before the Free Access Period ends.
CiteLogos Pro is a paid subscription available immediately. Pro features require an active paid subscription regardless of the Free Access Period.
The following subscription plans are available:
All prices are in United States Dollars (USD). Applicable taxes may be added at checkout based on your location.
New users who register after the Free Access Period ends may receive a seven (7) day free trial of CiteLogos Basic. New Pro subscribers may also receive a seven (7) day free trial of Pro features. You will not be charged during any trial period. If you do not cancel before a trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the applicable rate. You may cancel at any time during a trial without being charged.
IMPORTANT — AUTOMATIC RENEWAL NOTICE: Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) unless you cancel before the renewal date. You will be charged the then-current subscription rate at each renewal. You authorize us to charge your payment method on file for each renewal period.
To cancel your subscription, you may:
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will continue to have access to your subscribed features until the end of the period you have already paid for.
All subscription fees are non-refundable. When you cancel a subscription, you will not receive a refund for any unused portion of the current billing period. Your access continues through the end of the period you have already paid for. No partial, prorated, or full refunds will be issued for any reason, including but not limited to early cancellation, non-use, or dissatisfaction with the Service.
We encourage you to take advantage of the free trial period for Pro and the Free Access Period for Basic to evaluate whether CiteLogos meets your needs before committing to a paid subscription.
All payments are processed securely by Stripe, Inc., our third-party payment processor. We do not store your credit card or payment details on our servers. By subscribing, you agree to Stripe's terms of service and privacy policy. Your payment information is transmitted directly to Stripe using industry-standard encryption.
Subscription fees are exclusive of applicable taxes. Sales tax, value-added tax (VAT), goods and services tax (GST), or other applicable taxes will be calculated and added at checkout based on your location, as required by law. You are responsible for paying all applicable taxes associated with your subscription.
We reserve the right to change subscription prices at any time. If we change the price of your subscription, we will provide you with at least thirty (30) days' prior notice. The new price will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle following the notice period. Your continued use of the Service after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

The features available to you are determined by your subscription tier (Basic or Pro) and your subscription status. After the Free Access Period, both Basic and Pro require an active, paid subscription. Pro features require an active Pro subscription at all times.

CiteLogos and all related content, features, and functionality are owned by CiteLogos LLC and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used without our prior written consent.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
CiteLogos is a tool to assist in identifying potential citation errors but is not infallible. Results should be reviewed by a knowledgeable user. We do not guarantee that all errors will be detected or that all flagged items are actual errors. Auto-fix corrections provided by CiteLogos Pro should be reviewed before acceptance.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CITELOGOS LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CiteLogos LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination:
We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on our website and, where appropriate, by email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
CiteLogos is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you do so at your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws. All prices are in US Dollars, and your payment provider may apply currency conversion fees. By using the Service from outside the United States, you consent to the transfer of your data to the United States for processing.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Michigan.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and End User License Agreement, constitute the entire agreement between you and CiteLogos LLC regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements.
